As a Level II Trauma Center, we are eagerly anticipating our new 476,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Surgical Tower, due to be completed in 2016.
The $354 million project will house the Central Sterile Processing Department and includes 24 operating rooms, including six with hybrid capabilities designed and built to streamline operations and improve patient experiences.
The entire project is being designed with input from over 100 physicians, nurses, technicians and administrators, to create efficiencies, maximize best practices, and improve surgical and patient throughput.
In addition, the existing ED and trauma center will be expanded by 21,000 square feet, a vital necessity for Pennsylvania's highest-volume emergency service department.
In accordance with the Director of Perioperative Services, the role of the Manager of Central Sterile Processing is to supervise, plan, and direct the cleaning, sterilization, and processing of surgical instrumentation for the Operating Room, procedural suites, and outlying patient care areas.
Vo/Tech degree, completion of surgical technician course or RN licensure; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or healthcare-related field preferred
4-5 years of experience as a RN or Surgical Tech or equivalent in Perioperative Services
1-3 years of management experience in decontamination, sterilization, and processing of surgical trays and carts
BLS and CPR certification
Central Sterile Supply Technician certification (CRCST) or acquisition within two years of hire
NBSTSA surgical tech or Operating Room nurse certification preferred
