The RN is responsible for nursing care under the supervision of practice physicians and Practice Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
nursing care as directed utilizing the nursing process including but not limited to the following:
Contributes to the initial nursing assessment and reassessment by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner
Measure and record patients vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, height and weight
Prepare and give injections and enemas, dress wounds, monitor catheters, and give alcohol rubs and massages
Participates in the development plan of care in consultation with the registered professional nurse
Recognizes and reports changes in patient condition
Communicates nursing interventions and responses to care to the appropriate members of the health care team
Documents nursing interventions and responses to care
Provides information to patients and families and listen to their concerns
Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of patients and assures patient confidentiality at all times
Performs technical skills required by patients without causing harm by
Administers medications accurately and safely
Performs and documents technical skills
Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Currently licensed to practice licensed practical nursing in the State of New Jersey or a graduate of an accredited school with eligibility for licensure
CPR certification required
Minimum of one year of RN experience in a medical office setting required
Ability to work independently
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Previous electronic medical records experience highly preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions. Understanding of documentation standards.
Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment. Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.
Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards.
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
Attention to accuracy and detail
Demonstrates a clear understanding of the importance of staff satisfaction
