Supervises staff and operations of an IT Desktop Services Group that supports systems and users company-wide. Brings specific technical expertise to functions supervised. Monitors service desk; resolves problems as needed; develops service metrics and creates weekly reports; guides and implements automation efforts; participates in budget development and administration, short- and long-term planning, and quality assurance. Reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure and Desktop Services.
Supervises assigned staff. Recruits, screens, hires, and trains staff. Evaluates worker performance and provides guidance and feedback to staff. Coaches, mentors, and disciplines staff. Recommends professional development opportunities.
Provides end-user support for Windows PC desktops and laptops, and iOS and Android mobile devices.
Manages asset lifecycles and tracks deployed assets.
Supports onsite and remote clinical staff: physicians, nurses, technicians, and administrators.
Directs complex projects and lends technical assistance to others as needed. Resolves problems referred by staff.
Recommends departmental goals and objectives. Implements and communicates to staff. Reassesses or redefines priorities as appropriate in order to achieve performance objectives.
Works closely with users on project requests and for for problem resolution. Develops solutions that satisfy user needs.
Develops project schedules; plans and estimates staffing and other resource requirements. Supervises the work of staff to ensure project plans and schedules are adhered to. Follows up with users to ensure satisfaction with services provided.
Coordinates and negotiates with vendors to obtain proposals for purchases of hardware, software and technical services. Analyzes proposals and makes recommendations.
Participates in development and documentation of internal operating policies and procedures.
Stays informed of changes in IT technology by reading journals and other pertinent publications, maintaining contact with vendors, and participating in professional organizations, meetings and seminars.
Participates in audit, security and compliance activities.
Must be willing to make regular day-trips to our greater SF Bay Area treatment centers.
10-15% overnight travel to our remote treatment centers and offices (Southern California, Arizona, Texas, and Tennessee) and quarterly large offsite meetings is required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
5 years’ hands-on desktop systems administration experience in a Windows environment
5 years’ IT Management experience providing Tier II IT support
1 year’s experience supporting Cisco Webex and Cisco Unified Communications
Citrix VDI experience is highly desirable
Azure experience is a huge plus
Combined experience/education can possibly substitute for minimum education requirement.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
Demonstrated scripting and automation knowledge
Intermediate knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Security
Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft desktop technologies: Windows, Office, Office 365, SCCM
Proficient hardware knowledge: PCs, laptops, firewalls, switches, wiring, data communications
Able to read, write, speak, understand and satisfactorily communicate with others in English in person, over the phone and via email.
Strong leadership and strong team-player skills
