Join M Health Fairview primary care in a specimen collection/swabber position! Background for this role includes CMA, EMT, CA, LPN or RN education/certification.This is a benefit eligible, temporary 8-12 month role.
Swabbers: directly swabs patients with NP (nasopharyngeal swab).
Swab support: Assists with specimen swab, medium, swab labeling, and biohazard bagging. Both roles responsible for appropriate PPE use, hand hygiene, testing site disinfecting, and social distancing
Both roles require technical healthcare experience in some capacity. CMA, EMT, CA, LPN, RN may be trained for these roles.
Schedule, M-F 8:30-5pm
Every third Saturday/Sunday8:30-5pm
This position will require that you are able to travel to other site as needed.
Swabbers directly test patients either in enclosed booth or open booth testing centers. Responsible for strict adherence to direct patient contact protocols.
Ensures patient identification accuracy before testing.
Explains testing procedure to patient.
Responsible for collection of specimens without contamination.
Directs patients on appropriate hand hygiene and masking during protocols
Remains in clean area of testing booth.
Maintain social distance from patient and coordinates collection of testing specimen.
Ensures labeling accuracy.
Directs patients on hand hygiene and masking protocols.
Prepares specimen for submission.
Completion of CMA, EMT, CA, LPN or RN program.
Experience in technical healthcare role (CMA, EMT, CA, LPN, RN) for swabbing
