Here is some of what you can expect from being a Patient Safety Sitter with us: - You will maintain a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room and you will accompany patient and ensures patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment.
- You will establish a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self-harm prevention.
- You will monitor and report patient physical and emotional condition.
- You will intervene as needed to prevent patient from harming self or others and you will seek immediate assistance for escalating incidents.
- You will create clear, accurate documentation on patient status and activity during the shift.
- You will demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
- Participate as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues

Qualifications you will need for this role: - High school or GED
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
- One year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
