This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Registered Nurse - Community Living Center (CLC) will report to the Extended Care and Rehabilitation Service Line designated Nurse Manager and will provide, direct, and supervise the delivery of quality nursing care to a culturally diverse veteran population. Registered Nurse for the Extended Care and Rehabilitation Service must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting. This broad-based knowledge enables the Registered Nurse to: Care for residents with behaviors and/or frequent cognitive changes. Demonstrates knowledge of the death and dying process Prevent and manage skin integrity issues Appropriate care of invasive lines in the CLC setting Perform resident centered care Apply cultural change to residents' care in a home like environment Knowledge of the co-morbidities and complex needs of the bariatric resident; including the mandated use of Safe Patient Handling equipment. Care for residents with deteriorating physical status thus requiring increased assistance from staff.
