The Manager has 24-hour accountability, authority and responsibility for quality of services, operational management, and human resource management for an assigned environment(s). The Manager fosters the integration of the organization’s vision and values, and accomplishes the mission and strategic plan through an accountable work team. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Manager collaborates with customers, families, physicians, administration and associates to meet customer needs and expectations in a patient focused and healing environment. The Employee Health Manager (EHM) manages the Occupational Health and Workers’ Compensation program and is responsible for surveillance, management and record keeping for work-related aspects of the health of hosplital associates. This includes fitness for duty, infectious disease and exposures, work-related injury and illness, drug testing, federal, state and regulatory agency requirements and participation in safety and health education programs. The EHM reports to the Administrative Director for Human Resources and works closely with the Medical Director of the Corporate Care as the medical supervisor, the Infectious Disease Consultant, Infection Control, Safety, Human Resources and Risk Management. The EHM supervises the EH Coordinator, WC Specialist, EH Nurse and the EH Tech.
You will be responsible for:

Collaborates with Human Resources and Employee Assistance Program.

Manages employee and department needs and scheduling with flexibility.
Performs coaching and yearly appraisals with EH associates and the Workers’ Comp Specialist.
Maintains employee advocacy with departments and other employees.

Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the principal drivers of hospital and unit revenues and reimbursement, expenses and profits when making business decisions affecting the department.
Applies key financial concepts to decision making.
Understands how to strengthen the department through good financial planning and implementation.
Participates in annual budget development
Provides timely financial variance reporting.
Anticipates and recognizes areas of concern that may have a financial impact.
Makes appropriate recommendations to contain costs and/or increase efficiency.
Facilitates the identification and acquisition of equipment necessary to the delivery of care/services.
Assures appropriate supply management within department.
Develops productivity standards and assures implementation through development and maintenance of staffing plans.
Assures staff compliance on staffing standards, objectives and productivity goals.
Organizes and prioritizes work assignments and demonstrates flexibility to accommodate the following: changing work environment, high acuity, high census and/or sudden emergencies to meet organization needs.
Reviews cost containment issues in the Employee Health/Workers’ Compensation program.
Develops responsible budgets for EH and WC.
Collects and analyzes data for WC program.
What will you need
Associate’s Degree in Nursing
1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience
Registered Nurse License
BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred
Master’s Degree Preferred
2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience Preferred
