Atlantic Health System is seeking a full time Nurse Manager for Nurisng Administration at Newton Medical Center with a focus on Maternity Services.
Responsibilities
Will maintain oversight of Maternity Services at Newton Medical Center. The department includes, Labor and Delivery, Nursery with Level II intermediate nursery, mother baby, and parent education.
Creates a working environment that promotes positive employee engagement, adherence to company policies, effective communications, collaboration, innovation, optimal productivity, and continuous learning. Assures that systems are in place to ensure appropriate resources and competent staff.
Directs department operations on a continuous basis and advises management on operational and functional improvement opportunities. Ensures that budget monitoring processes are in place and that appropriate action plans are established to address variances outside of established parameters. Identifies and implements ways to reduce and control expenses, as well as enhance revenues in the hospital and assigned areas.
Ensures staff and physician awareness of cost impact on organization.
Focuses staff on continuously building customer satisfaction for patients, physicians, colleagues, the community and other departments served. Engages staff in continually raising the bar in service excellence
Assures that implementation of standards of professional practice occurs, reviewing and revising according to policy or as necessary to reflect changes in practice and to ensure safe, effective and efficient patient care. Ensures compliance with local, state, federal rules and regulations and OSHA and JCAHO standards. Consistently, with others, evaluates core processes for redesign opportunities to improve operations, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, enhance service, and improve performance.
Responsible for:
Maintenance and compliance for Joint Commission Perinatal Care recertification and Baby Friendly Re-designation
Accurate records in the Vital Statistics Registry (VERI)
Newborn hearing follow-up and NJISS updates
Newborn Birth Defect Registry
Active participation in the AHS Obstetrical Collaborative
Participation in the NJ Maternal Child Consortia, Breastfeeding Program, and Fetal Infant Morality Review
Collaborate with the Obstetrical and Pediatric Chairs
Qualifications
Education:
BSN required
MSN preferred
Required License:
Valid New Jersey Nursing License required
Specialty Nursing Certification preferred
Related Experience:
Minimum 10 years maternal child health clinical nursing experience is preferred
Progressive leadership experience is preferred
